Using sandboxes
A sandbox is a private, unrated MyTurnYet table for practice, testing a position, teaching, or arranging a controlled game. It starts immediately and never affects ratings, rankings, achievements, tournament results, or normal game statistics.
Create a sandbox
Choose Start sandbox
Open Create table, choose a game, then select Start sandbox. MyTurnYet makes the table private and unrated automatically. Use New game instead when you want the normal competitive or casual table flow.
Pick a starting setup
Most sandboxes start from the selected game variant’s canonical position. For Diplomacy, the creation page also offers Custom setup, which opens the variant-pinned setup editor immediately after creation.
Invite the people you need
A sandbox is private. The creator can invite players to the available sandbox seats after it is ready, making it useful for a coaching session, a rules example, or a small group experiment.
Custom Diplomacy positions
The current custom setup editor is available for Diplomacy sandboxes. It uses the selected variant’s server-provided map and capabilities, rather than assuming the standard map. The editor can reset to the standard position and make validated changes such as phase, units, supply-center ownership, power assignments, and dislodgement state where the selected variant supports them.
Revisions and validation
Sandbox setup changes are saved as private revisions. Give a revision a useful name when you want to return to a teaching or test position. Before starting, review the validation result and any warnings. Saving a position revision clears pending orders, so participants should review the board again before submitting new orders.
Starting and running the sandbox
When the position is ready, start the sandbox from the setup panel and use the normal match interface. The private and unrated status remains part of the sandbox: creating or editing positions does not convert it into a rated, ranked, or tournament table.
Sandbox or game master?
Use a sandbox when you need a safe, non-competitive space to configure or demonstrate a game. Use a game master when a table needs a non-playing administrator, pauses, transparent interventions, or participant-visible reasons. A sandbox can be useful for preparing an example before running a separate moderated table.

Create the private table first, then choose the standard or custom setup available for its game.
